America's Sweetheart Wishes To Say Hello

Having started about 7,500 blogs in the past 10 years, and having never committed to any of them, I figured that I should try again. This is because I feel like I need to be accountable for my choices and I like to talk about myself because I am ever so adorable and hilarious! I spend a lot of time on facebook and my phone, and in my bed, where I nap, snack, and unashamedly watch reality television and yell at the news. In the off chance that someone should be inclined to read this, it’s best that I take this time… this special time when I am on the bus to visit my family and we are stopped at the McDonalds just off the highway to introduce myself. I am 33 years old, I will be 34 in several days. At an age where most women are married, babied, housed, and gray going I am none of those things. Instead I am single, free of children, living in a house in a fabulous neighborhood located betwixt Center City and South Philly. I share this house with three gay men, two of whom are engaged to each other and one who cuts hair for a living. I am not, by any measure going gray. I am, however, 5’8” and weigh 195 glorious wiggly, jiggly pounds. Don’t worry, though, as I fully intend to get down to 160 slightly less wiggly, jiggly pounds come July. I am very attractive. I’m not just saying that, it’s true. I have great skin, a luminous smile, long legs and good cheekbones! I am sweet and funny and do an amazing Christopher Walken impression, the likes of which are unrivaled! I tend to be pretty smart, I take classes at an ivy league university on very clever topics such as philosophy, art history, and language. I have an amazing and very fun job where I have the greatest bosses of all time in the history of the world. It’s true, and if you keep reading this you will read more about them in the future. I am a loser of hats and glasses, a lover of coffee and the clearance wrack at Macy's, and an enjoyer of sporting events... as long as there are snacks. I listen to a lot of music, go to a lot of movies, and read a lot of celebrity gossip! I have a lot of fantastic friends, most of them are married… and I say good for them! Married is a good thing to be, it means you always have someone to help you carry groceries. If they are not married they have relationships that are not legally bound (or in many cases, recognized… BOOOO), but I do have some single friends, as well. I can count them on my fingers and toes, but they are there, soldiering on in the war. There are, among these single friends, a few from whom I go to for advice. Do I listen to it? Yes, I do. Do I follow it? No a chance. That’s going to change. That’s what this blog is about, learning to listen to those who tell me that I need to learn to love myself, be confident, and take care. I hope you follow this blog and join me on this journey or weight loss, thrift store finds, near-miss bicycle accidents, books, and music... so much music.
